Don't think it's been mentioned, but Denny and Dennis Martinez? Or how about Leo/Chico Cardenas?
How about Frank Thomas/Anonymous? Sorry - it's still early and I'm a bit punchy from lack of coffee.... Last edited by deweyinthehall; 12-10-2021 at 06:05 AM. Reason: . |

If not mentioned, Rich Gossage became Goose. Did any Jim Hunter cards actually say Catfish on front?

I looked for both a few days ago and couldn’t find any but several of Hunter’s cards have Jim “Catfish” Hunter as the facsimile signature.

Right around 1988, Dwight Gooden made it known that he wanted to be referred to as "Doc".

How about two names on the same card?

Forget about different names, Runnels had a card with a different picture (teammate Don Johnson).

Tons of examples and yet Dick Pole was always Dick Pole.

I have a few uncut sheets of '78 Topps on the walls of my home office. My daughter and her college friends were in there one night playing pool, glanced at one of the sheets, and saw Dick Pole's card...'nuff said? Poor guy.

I can't find any cards, but there was a minor leaguer who signed his name "Jose A. Pujols". When he got to the big leagues he started signing A. Pujols. He goes by Albert now.

I used to work with a guy named Richard Head. I wonder what his parents were thinking.

Whatever you think of his parents, it's pretty clear the guy came out ahead.
