If you're looking for something cheap but still cool, check out 1974 Fleer Pioneers of Baseball, only 28 cards and full of HOFers.
Sorry, not pre1970 but all the players are.

At 77 cards, the set is a little large for me at this time. I do thank you for bringing it up though! Looks pretty cool.
I'll take on some bigger sets once I knock out the 54 Topps that I am working on. I'm a one at a time kinda guy.

Well, my set is in a binder with 4 cards per page- which works well for raw cards. Graded would be more of a challenge. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

how about 1969 o-pee-chee deckle edge...24 cards and much more rare than the topps version.
