I thought some of you T206 collectors would be interested in sharing some of your favourite cards - not so much for their monetary value but for other reasons. Maybe there's a story behind the subject or a personal story on how you were able to obtain the card, etc.
George Gibson is a member of both the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, so being from the Great White North I have always had a soft spot for this "Mooney" card. He also played a major role in having the Labatt family purchase Tecumseh Park in London, Ont. and donate it to the city. The ball park, now known as Labatt Memorial Park, is considered the "oldest continually operating baseball grounds in the world". |

This would be mine. I love the T206's and this is signed by a Hall Of Famer. This would probably be the only card I keep if I was to liquidate my collection. This is a raw scan. It is slabbed by PSA.

It's difficult to decide which of these 3 cards is my favorite T206. Therefore, I have posted all three.
In 1981, I acquired my first T206 card. Hal Chase has always been my favorite pre-WWI ballplayer. ![]() ![]() This Walter Johnson image tops all other images in the set. ![]() And, my favorite T206 Ty Cobb with a really tough back. ![]() ![]() TED Z . |

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those three cards.
I have always thought Hal Chase was an interesting character as well. Thanks for sharing! |

One of the first T206's I picked up many years ago. I have always liked the mean glare on Ty's face.
And this one. It took me years to find one centered with a bold red background and perfect registration. The big fat borders were a bonus! |

This is Zach Wheat from out of Zach Wheats own scrapbook. I have his entire Brooklyn T206 team set from the scrapbook. This one has to be my favorite.

This Frank Smith is the first T206 I ever bought, and Doug M graciously included the Lee Tannehill with it. So, they have some real sentimental value. They're also beautiful; I love their color.

My two current favorites: the Pelty was my first purchase, the other a gift from a board member.

I own cards better and really didn't put a whole lot of thought into this pick.
This is the first T206 I bought when I got back into collecting after I sold all my pre-war cards initially.

Haven't posted this one in awhile, but I've always liked the story behind my dirty Hooker that was found pinned to a stud in an old Philadelphia bathroom wall (found during renovation along with a couple other T206s).
![]() ![]() And I've always liked my Mathewson portrait's date stamp on the back. ![]()
