Canadian Pre-War Baseball cards

Technically not cards, but they are Pre-War and Canadian. 1928 La Presse premiums:

...almost the exact same pose used for his 1939 Salutation Exhibit card.

...Frank Reiber is found more often on 1934 and 1935 Detroit Tigers team photos than on his own cards. Filled in for Mickey Cochrane when he was needed. Tigers won the World Series in 1934 so Reiber's timing in the Majors was excellent.

I purchased a group of about 100 (mostly non-sports) cards from an eBay seller in Winnipeg back in 2005. They included a Holland Creameries Zahniser. Maybe that was the last one to leave the city.

Hey Glenn, that was a nice find! For all the years I've looked in Winnipeg, attended shows, garage sales, flea markets, etc. I've never found even one regional card that was produced here, and stayed in the city. So you just might have got the last HC card. I'll keep searching though!

Nice Foxx Leon 1937 OPC is one of my favorite issues of the 30's. But the 1936 WWG has also held a place in my heart because it had both Gehrig and DiMaggio in the set. If you turn DiMaggio over has his nickname listed as "Deadpan Joe" which matches the photo perfectly. Great thread on vacation or would contribute.
