Not the most expensive, but definitely my favorite Matty card! I've never understood why the 205s aren't more popular. That one is a beaut too!

Default Matty cards

I have been away on vacation and I was very pleased today to see all the great Mathewson cards posted on this thread. Some really great stuff....thanks.

Here is a tuff T206 front / back combo of Matty. Check it out in the pop-reports. I do not think there are too many listed. Matty's SOVEREIGN 350 is easier
to find (I did see one posted here).

Default Matty cards

My favorite Matty card......there is a certain mystique about Tobacco cards with really tough advertising backs.

June 13 was a good date in Matty's career...in 1905 he pitched his 2nd no-hitter on this date, and in 1913 he got his 300th win on this date.

Hi, Jeff. Love the Max Stein. And yes, David, those are ridiculous (drool)!

The substantive contents of this thread would make a great start to a Matty museum. Thanks for posting, one and all!

Best regards,

Larry

Default Matty

Certainly not a tough card....but, it's Matty, nevertheless.

Default Earliest Matty

Okay, so maybe not a card but your not going to find much, if anything, with an earlier image of Mathewson.

I don't remember ever seeing another one and after tomorrow (Auction closing) I probably won't see it again.

Also not a card, but a victory versus Boston on June 27, 1906 :
