![]() Here are my T206's, and I also have the National Police Gazette insert posted a few posts up, but no picture of it. ![]() ![]()

I've never heard the story about Cobb fighting Evans. I'm bidding on the Cobb photos in tonight's Legendary auction, lots 1326 through 1409 make him appear like a friendly, easy going player. Did Cobb have some control over the media in those days?
The two glass negatives look familiar. Does anyone know if a card was printed from either of these images: (Links) Lot 458 Lot 462 Last edited by TristanWingfield; 09-29-2009 at 07:53 AM. |

This story only goes to show what a wuss Cobb was (apologies to Lichtman). A no-holds-barred, bare-knuckle brawl that lasts for 30 minutes??? With Cobb fighting like a wild man? Have you ever seen or been in a no-holds-barred, bare-knuckle brawl? They don't last 30 minutes. In fact, without PCP, they don't even last 3 minutes. Unless it's a battle between two 3rd-grade girls.
Ty Cobb: wild man fighter or 3rd-grade girl? One of baseball's great mysteries is finally solved! -Ryan |

I hope the answer is all of them. Amazing piece, real cards or not. I'd buy it if they were all reprints.

![]() Mike, Very impressive. If those are all real, I know how you can handle all future legal bills (assuming, of course, you ever get in BIG legal trouble.)! |

Fantastic display Mike! Are you only a Cobb collector or do you have incredible displays like that of other players?

That is an incredible collage Mike. T206 Cobb back, D380 Clement Bread, Boston Garter, etc. all stored inside a picture frame.
Everyone should break their cards out of their SGC holders and display their cards in a frame for all their guests to enjoy. |

If that were a print I would buy a copy in a second! Simply beautiful!
If all of those are real, that has to be the #1 cobb collection hands down! |

agreed, can't think of one that would even be a close second.

these cobbs are reprints,i have been doing higher end displays for about 3 years,i have done most pre war players over that period. i am also a collector and have been for 30 years, and do own 27 of the 48 cobbs pictured.i found a niche were people who cannot afford the originals or would prefer not to have their expensive cards out in the open, like myself can have a way to display them on a wall and not have to worry about someone walking off with them.i know in my situation i am proud of my collection, but can only enjoy it so much as its locked away in a safety deposit box, just to ease any concerns am not one of those yahoos on ebay trying to pedal off fake cards, all of these reprints are printed on the front only then double matted and framed for display purposes.

27 of the 48 is a tremendous accomplishment and is certainly a first class Cobb collection by any measurement. Can I ask what the dimensions of that framed piece are? Did you make that custom matte yourself?
