Jamie
That's a wonderful baseball. They should give 10% discounts if you bid with an interesting backstory about why or how you are bidding on the item.

Default A bunch of beaters!

I got 50 new cards, including a bunch of T202s that I needed (two Cobbs) - $30/card + juice, so I'm happy with that! I'll also have a few T3, T200, T201, and T207 gems to put on the wall of the Man Cave. My tax return was burning a hole in my pocket!

Congratulations, Ken! That was a spectacular image of Harry, and one of the lots I was bidding a few times upon. Great pickup!

This is my first year [in many] that I did not pick up any winnings from REA. As I won a special piece from Legendary earlier this week, I was not too disappointed.

Thanks Marty. Looking back to when I first got the insane idea to do an E94 master set (6 colors of each player), I didn't really realize the time, money and effort it was going to take. I am down to a handful of commons now plus some color variations of the big boys (Cobb, Wagner and Young). Realistically I am going to have some tough decisions to make before long, like do I sell some pre-war sets to complete this task or do I just sit back and take a breath and realize that it may never be finished at today's prices.

Bob - you can wait for a recession and then buy them all up on the cheap.

Oh, wait.

hi matt- seems that way...i dont post all of my winnings but i was happy to get this one, kind of a cop out not doing it card by card, but i would have never had the patience to do it that way....so i decided to share this one, not sure if i am going to register it or not. at the moment probably not.. with the extras i have i have the set up to 6.00 ex/mt...i have wanted 3 sets in my life..this one, a 1915 cracjer jack (did not even sart it yet) and a 1938 horrors of war wich i own and is on the registry.....the one last year in rea went for the same but was a g.p.a of 5.11- this is 5.70...glad i waited..

very true matt, but you know what, who knows where true value lies? in this hobby value is all over the place....it's only worth what someones willing to pay regardless of guide , auction, etc.. if i ever thought of resale before i bought i probably wouldnt buy a thing

Marty,

Very nice pick-up. And to add to your thought about true value, I've always found it ironic that true value is set by the underbidder, not necessarily by the winner.

Default Lot of PSA 5's / PSA 4's and 55 Bowman collection.

114 4'S
91 5'S
And a great group of 55's. Always liked that set. One of those love or hate sets.

Scott-

I think the definition of being "too successful" is to win a SGC 70 Cobb green and to "forget it".

Hi Michael,

Congrats on the Sullivan - I got the other REA lot of E97 Sullivans (the B&W and the Chicago)!

I was also bidding on those W600 Red Sox, but it went past my budget.

Cheers,

Thanks tbob!

I thought the price was really great as well (so thanks for not pushing me harder )

About a dozen years ago, I obtained a nice specimen of the color E97 Sullivan (Boston). So the addition of this lot now gives me all 3 variations. I'm very happy about that!

Attached is a scan of my Boston color - I guess now I have to send it to SGC so all 3 are in matching holders...

All the best,

Blair

Hi Blair,

Nice Sullivan pickups. I also had my eye on your lot and almost jumped into the fray but went with the Color Boston version instead. Congrats on getting all 3. The B&W Boston version is indeed intriguing.

Michael

Hey Michael,

Good deal on the color that you got. Nice avatar you got going there too

(I bet if Dennis Sullivan was alive today he would be quite flattered by all this attention.)

Cheers,
