Man, given what I've had to pay for the last several shortprints, I know there have to be more folks out there collecting this set. Show yourselves!

I agree...more E90-1 collectors should expose themselves. Until someone takes up the challenge, here is an American Caramel of the unceasingly creased Kraken variety to hopefully tease out some more E-Monsters.

Glad to see that last post brought a few folks out of the woodwork.
A while back, I thought I was shorted three points. That must not have been true because after two pickups of three-pointers, my total should be 215 and not the 218 I thought it would be. Added Shean and Stone one hand for six points in the last week. Here's Shean while Stone is still in transit. Missing only Shoeless Joe, Wags Batting, and Stahl now! So let's try this again -- my total is 215! Apologies for cheating the Kraken on three points.

I'm such an idiot. Wagner batting is only seven points, not ten. I'm missing Joe, Wagner Batting, and Stahl -- 32 points missing from the 250 target. So 218 is indeed my total. You should probably leave it as 215 as a penalty for my stupidity.

Sorry to be late to the thread, I started collecting this set a few years ago, but only recently increased focus.
I have 101 of the 120 cards, but most of the ones i'm missing are the big ones (have jackson, but missing both wagners, speaker, mike mitchell, duffy, keeler red and thorwing, etc). By my calculation, total points for me is at 160. PS, only 57 of the cards are PSA graded, the others are SGC and raw, but am going for the registry set at some point. my set is ranked #8 and super creatively called "Joey's E90-1s" If anyone has interest in trading or selling to help me (or help eachother) with their Kraken sets, please drop me a line! Thanks Joey -

End o' the Line for me
Well, I can say that my Kraken journey has finally come to an end! I completed my E91 American Caramel set (A/B/C) at the National and now am at the end of the line on E90-1.
Mr. Stahl is on the way to me in the mail and today, the Honus Wagner batting card showed up in the mail. I won't be pursuing Shoeless Joe unless all of the stars align, so I think it's safe to say that 230 Kraken points is probably as far as I'm going to get. As far as I can tell, it took me about eight years, though I wasn't too serious about collecting them for a while in between. Best of luck to all of you with your E90-1 journeys. I look forward to continuing to follow this thread. It's a fantastic set and unless you collect them, you don't truly know just how tough some of the cards are to find.

Impressive couple of cards from the 'AN' crowd of Anson and Andy. And Anson is correct...there are plenty of tough cards in the set. I had the good fortune to obtain most of my scarce before this knowledge became more well known.
And congrats on the E91A/B/C completion. They are fun group of cards, but unlike the E90-1 set there are no known (currently) tough cards. And if I were to start a comparable thread, I might get a handful of replies. Your numbers have been updated, and I reserve the right to update when the stars possibly align in the future. Brian |

Thanks, Brian -- it's weird. I didn't have any great affinity towards that set (E91). I just started picking them up. Many were really cheap at the time. Before I knew it, I had 20 or so, so I just kept going.
I really began to enjoy it because of the challenge. And while there aren't really cards in it that I consider tougher than the others (other than the fact that they seem to get slightly more plentiful with each progressive series), I'd argue that the entire series is just flat out difficult. You're certainly right in that there isn't anything stupidly rare. But at the National this weekend, I saw very few in total. Like a couple dozen.
