I wonder if many of the drivers are told to do the ring and dash. I have watched a driver come to my front door, ring the bell and turn around and leave. They are not waiting for you to answer. The bell ring is a "courtesy" I suppose to let you know it arrived. If you don't hear it, you have to stumble upon your package later.
Saves time, but can lead to many problems with "non-delivery" or theft. I have all of my collectibles come to my work address. Someone is always there and it is as safe as anything, plus then the address I share with the world is not where my collection is housed. Further protection...you never know when someone may try something funny because they have your home address!! Buy or trade for $1000s of items and then give someone a map to your front door!! Maybe I am a tad paranoid and I don't even live in the "bad area" of town, just like to be cautious. |
