In the movie, a newspaper headline is seen to list Ted and Joe as the RBI leaders. Ted wanted to be known as the best hitter who ever lived; Roy wanted to be known as the best ever. Ted was Redford's idol and he wore #9 in the movie and copied his swing. |

Manny is going to get a real come-uppance next year. He wants $100 mil for a 4 year deal. It ain't going to happen. He should have stuck with his 20 mil and been happy. No team in their right mind is going to pay him $25 mil a year for the next 4 years at his age and with his temperament. Not even the Yankees... |

I'm a lifelong BoSox fan, and never liked that clown. He was never good for the team from an attitude standpoint. Somebody once told me that Manny lives on the penthouse floor of an expensive Manhattan hotel. Imagine what that monthly rent must be setting him back. I hope he ends up like Spinks someday, cleaning toilets. Hell, he wouldn't even need to buy a johnny-mop; he could just dip his dreadlock-laden follicles into the dirty bowl and flush for all I care! Good riddance! |
