Not ever too many steals in REA. Awesome auctions with awesome items but way too many eyeballs to get many deals much less steal anything from them. A couple times over the years made what I thought were real strong bids on a few of their 50s and 60s shoebox collections and just get creamed.

New money, flipper money, investment money, has found its way to the pre and post war market. PC collectors have had to pivot to stay interested or just pay the freight to add to our collections. What used to buy 3 cards now buys one.

Yup. I refer to this the giddy tax. There are certain auctions where there is a sense of pride collectors take in overpaying and participating. Nobody steals anything in REA...they generally pay up.

Price of card -- whatever.
Feeling of community -- priceless.

Like the old AMEX commercials' slogan...membership has its privileges.

Gee (certain) folks- anyone envious much? People "take pride" in overpaying?
That's nonsense. I've won plenty of REA items despite not being made of
money, and not having the secret "membership" alluded to above. Isn't it
just possible that there are people who recognize quality and do their best
to win a coveted piece? Aren't cards an extravagant collectible market? (that
last word is important). The original post was merely a heads up that REA
opened- and apparently the floodgates with it. Good Lord, the whining is
unreal.

As I am sure most of you know, the auction ends at some point tonight. Good luck to all bidders and consigners!

Yes it is. More irony from the King of Irony.
