Default Hoping you can share some PSA holder knowledge

Hi all. I am planning to send in a few submissions to PSA after a 12 year hiatus, thanks to the Oversized Card grading special. The special says that items accepted include "Supersized, T3, & Jumbo cards". And there is a list of exclusions. But the question I have, which it seems the PSA site does not address anywhere, is what card sets fall under the Supersized, T3, & Jumbo categories? Is there a list somewhere on the PSA site or are we supposed to submit and just hope that we're right?

For example, do M101-2's fall under the Jumbo card category? I assume that T9's are part of the T3 category, but it would be nice to know for sure before I send any in. What about W600's, where do they fall in the PSA categories of card slabs? I have to believe that this is defined somewhere on the PSA site and that they don't leave submitters guessing, but I haven't spent time on the site in many years and I don't find their menu system very intuitive at all.

Thanks for your help!
Chad

Here’s their general guideline on Oversized. But that may not be specific enough information for you, not sure.

Thanks. This would lead me to believe that anything above the listed size would be considered 'Oversized' and be part of the special, no matter what it is. But I wonder how far that can be taken. What about 8.5" x 11" photographs? If only cards, what is considered a card? Do Exhibits count? Are premiums cards? I guess I'm hoping for some definitive information on the PSA site that likely doesn't exist.

My understanding is that Exhibits and regular sized postcards are considered Tall Boys so they are not "oversized" and cheaper and easier to submit to grade.
As to the really big stuff (bigger than T3s and T9s and other "cabinet" cards) -- Maybe you can see if PSA even grades them by looking in their pop report?

Default Most of the time

In almost all cases (99%) if it’s in a catalog like the annual Beckett or Krause book and fits in their holders they grade it.

I’ve had some success with the research request function through the customer request center.

Details here: https://blog.psacard.com/2021/05/20/...equest-center/

Usually they will confirm whether they will grade it. And once they respond, you can always ask additional questions by responding to their email, like asking how you should submit it, under which category, any special instructions to the graders, etc.

Thanks for the advice everyone. It is very appreciated. I think that the completely out of whack regular price for T3 grading ($150 minimum) vs other cards the same size or larger is a big part of my confusion. From what I can tell, looks like M101-2's (and perhaps W600s as well?) are regularly $75 to grade, so the $50 Oversized special is not as big of a win there as it is for T3's and T9's, especially considering the $750 declared value limit.

I still don't understand why they singled out T3's for forced Express grading ($150) vs. other 'cabinet' type cards.

I have a 1964 Topps Giant Mickey Mantle. Likely a 9, but could possibly grade a 10. Would anyone think this card would fit the special, and is it worth it?

Value it like an 8 at $350 and send it in. If it hits a 9, you're probably still under the limit. If it hits a 10, PSA upcharges you and you get a huge bonus.

Odds of an oversized card with narrow borders getting a 10 from PSA? 2%
