in the 36 year history of The Montreal Expos there were just 2 immaculate innings , one was thrown by John Strohmayer on July 10th 1971 and the other by Mel Rojas on May 11th 1994.

Now you need to dive deep and find one for Sept 8, 1977 where Bruce Sutter threw one against them...

Hi Paul,
I think you are correct.

Another unusual occurance is when 300 game win pitchers face each other after they have won 300 games. Very few games overall.
I'm not sure if the same is true of 4,000K games, but that would be neat as well...

Good one Paul.

I'm calling you the winner.

They didn't just play in the same game, they each got a hit in the same game, and it was after they were each a member of the 3000 hit club.

Send me your address.

Doug

PS - Scott, I don't believe 4000 K pitchers ever faced each other, after they were each at 4000 K

FWIW, I have a feeling that George Brett and Robin Yount may have possibly done the same thing in 1993.

Three times :
29-May-93 in Milwaukee and 4-Jun-93 & 31-Aug-93 in KC

I'm looking for those...

May & Aaron did it 11 times
Yount & Brett 3 times
Murray & Winfield twice
Murray & Molitor 3 times
Beltre & Ichiro once (and Beltre got hits #2994-5-6 in a game where Ichiro got #3058-9)
Beltre & Pujols once

Some combination of Cobb, Speaker & Collins did it 79 times from 1925 thru 1928 (including the game when Collins got #3000).

Cobb was involved 62 times, Speaker 67 times and Collins 35 times.

There were 6 games in 1927 where all three of them got a hit.

Ok, so in my initial post I lied about not having looked at games prior to 1930.
