I've been on the sidelines as prices have gone crazy...probably been a year since I picked up anything significant. But I was able to pick this up today at the Raleigh card show. Always liked this card and thought it was undervalued. A little creased up but I'm a sucker for perfect registration, and the color is nice.

Great pick up Dan, I agree with you on the card being undervalued.

Dan great pickup. That looks great for the condition. The creases and wrinkles wouldn't bother me at all.

A few more E98s including a tough orange Vaughn. Very excited to get that one.

Thanks guys! Nothing better than Net54 pickup thread validation

Justin, the Raleigh show was ok. They've got everyone packed like sardines into the Holshouser building with a difficult floor layout. I went to the last show in February and left immediately because it was so crowded and you literally had to squeeze between people (often maskless) to go down the aisles. Now I've had both my shots and it was a little less crowded, so I was able to enjoy it more. Tons of very high-dollar modern baseball and basketball slabs, and wax. A decent amount of 60s-70s vintage at various price points. Not much nice 50s stuff. Almost no prewar. One guy had half a display's worth, but his stickered prices were so silly (like $200 for a beat up E121 common) that I didn't even engage with him. Occasionally you would find something interesting hidden among the detritus, which was the case with the Cobb I picked up. I think the next show is in June and will be back in the larger building, which will be nice. In any case, it was great just to be back out at a show!

Default Babe Ruth - Bulgaria Cigarette Card

My wife surprised me for my birthday with a full album of 1932 Bulgaria Cigarette Cards - including one Rabe Ruth. It's my first Ruth card from his playing days.

Bulgaria Cigarettes were a German cigarette company. As I understand it, it's the only cigarette card with Ruth on it.

Some great rare-back pick-ups, and not just T206. Congrats to all. Here a few1914 CJ's I picked up (on from a board member) - I am getting ever closer to pulling the trigger on putting together the set

PSA/DNA Pop report:

Low # Rookie Signed: Pop 3 (I own 1 of them)
Hi # In Action Signed Rookie: Pop 2 (I now own both)

Not sure what that means other than I have 60% of all signed Wilt Rookies!

Peace, mike

With the end of the ebay ebucks program being a final slap in the face, I decided to use the larger portion of my last ebucks on a purchase I deemed appropriate:

Nice Dan! The Raleigh show has some nice cards from time to time. I didn't know they were running. With the Chantilly show canceling I may catch the next show!
