Nice! I picked up some exhibits myself. Underrated cards.

I like the exhibit card . The image is better then his lazy eye rookie. Plus some were made in 1948 .

I have never seen definitive proof of that, Dustin. 1949 cards had "An Exhibit Card" on the bottom:
See the Paige on the left. I do not recall seeing a Robinson with that notation. He was definitely in the 1950 and 1951 runs; here are two salesman samples with checklists from those years: (this one is a 1950 because it has 1949 ROY Don Newcombe and the 1949 pennant winning teams; the 1948 pennant winners were the Indians and Braves, so the 1949 checklist would have had them listed) This one is a 1951 because it has the Phillies on it (1950 pennant winners). I don't have ESCO issued checklists for 1948 or 1949, so if you have something, please share it.

Jackie Robinson Cane Topper
Just picked up this cool Jackie item.
Called a cane topper. Never saw one before so I decided to get it figuring someone would like to add it to their collection. Contact me if interested. Note the word Jackie on the back in the photos.

Thanks Adam, I read online that the measurements for the MADE IN USA is 5/8s then is was from 48. Is this bad information? And I think it had to be all caps in the spelling? Here is a pic of mine which does measure 5/8 .

Short answer: I don't know. Long answer: there are deviations from the standard with ESCO products. They just weren't that careful. Also the difference between 5/8 and 7/16 (1950) is really small. Absent an uncut sheet or a checklist from a sample I am not a fan of making absolute pronouncements that might dramatically boost the value of a card. it seems weird that they would issue a 48 but no 49.

Looking to add a couple Jackie items to the collection. This is my 1`st ticket ever, thought it was cool piece especially coming from his opening home stand in "47" (4/27/47). Still on the lookout for an Old Gold or 50`s postcard, always liked that shot of him. Also, thanks Shoeless for making this available Sir.

For example the 1951 Checklist card shown above with the 1950 Phillies on it which should date it to 1951 has Jackie Robinson on it which we know only comes in the MADE IN U.S.A. ( all CAPS) 5/8", However on the same checklist is for example Jim Konstanty who only has one Exhibit card and his has Made in U.S.A. ( Not all CAPS). There are other different examples as well. The 1955 Postcard back set has all kinds of different sizes and wording of the Made, Printed etc. notations on cards in the set To complicate matters a lot of the cards, Jackie Robinson included come in a sepia tint and a B&W tint. See below. So it is possible the sepia is from 1948 and the B&W is from 1951. But I can not verify ALL the guys listed on the 51 checklist exist in B&W. Then it seems possible there were different printings with the team cards being changed late in the year after the World Series and again repeated later the following year with different player cards after some were dropped and others added. Crystal clear right??

Here's a whale of a trivia question (something I learned for the first time today)...
Who was the manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers on the first day of the 1947 season, the day the color barrier was forever broken? (Perhaps this is an already well-known factoid?? The obvious guess is wrong. No cheating!!)
