I answer you, about 15 years ago they brought me 10 Topps 1955 with the stars, Clemente, Aaron William, Snider etc, I had a complete series, I showed them to the sellers so they could see that theirs were laser printed, that They returned them to the one who gave them to them, then they told me that they did not know they were false and they would return them, the next day a great friend of mine called Ruben calls me on the phone, and he tells me that he had bought a Topps 55 but that he was not sure if They were real, I told him what happened the day before and I asked him what he had paid, and he tells me $ 500 dollars, I am very sorry as they cheated my friend, to your question of, Have they falsified American cards? that is the answer..

Default Pre-Aguilitas

Hello, now I show you the rarest cards of the "Aguilitas Artistic Series" these are the "Pre-Aguiitas" I gave them that name and this is how it appears in my catalog because these cards appeared in the cigarette packs of propaganda to the series that It would come out weeks later, the cards on the front are the same portrait, but behind appears the propaganda of the series and its numbers according to the theme, very few of these were made and it is very rare to find any, I have only seen these in the series of baseball cards, in the photo we see the pack of cigarettes, and the card of Alejandro Oms, and its two backs.

Default Thank you

Thank you Rolando
For posting information on cuban cards.
In your opinion what is the rarest set or cards?
Romeo , Punch , Victoria, El indio, Campo Allegre
Fotos, Acebo?
How would you organize the most rare
in order.

Also do you have any information on
Fotos Magazine and Carteles Magazine
With Baseball Players on cover.
Best Regard
Richard

Richard, a few years ago a man over 70 years old came to my house and he asked me about a Bohemian magazine, if I could have it, so I told him to come in 2 or 3 days to look for it, I found it and days later when he came back I showed it to him, the man was moved and told me, look at that boy with the bat is me, he told me that this photo was on January 6, 1949, the "Day of the Magi" and among the Gifts were balls, gloves and bats, and several of the boys went to the Santos Suarez Park, to play and the photographer from La Bohemia photographed them and told them that the photo would come out 3 days later, on January 9, 1949, and So it was, the father bought the magazine and everyone saw it, but the father kept it days later and they never saw it again, eventually they threw it away, and he had not seen that magazine again until the moment I showed it to him. , the man kept coming back to take a picture of him, I scanned it, but he never came back, I'll tell them that Santos Park Suarez is the park in my neighborhood of the same name, I also played ball in that place and almost every day I pass by, sometimes walking in my car, it is 5 blocks from my house (500 meters). from the Almanaque Deportivo Magazine, when you see them let me know.

Default Luis Tiant junior

This is a ball that Luis Tiant signed for me in the last 1960-61 Cuban Professional Championship, but it was also the only one in which Tiant played and won the rookie of the year title, a very rare ball.

Default Snake Henry

Here's a US-born (North Carolina), slender, left-handed first baseman who spent his entire career, like his namesake, hiding in the weeds of professional baseball. He got a "cup of coffee" with Boston in 1922-23, but could only hit .187. In the minor leagues, however, he was able to hit like few ever have. Also in Cuba, where his presence was memorialized by these cards.

Frederick Marshall "Snake" Henry was a Major League first baseman and Minor League manager. He played in a total of 29 games for the Boston Braves during the 1922 and 1923 seasons. Henry's greatest achievements in baseball were in the Minor Leagues where he compiled 3,384 career hits (fifth all time in Minor League history), 675 doubles and 200 triples (both ranking him second all time).

The "Snake" could only take so much of the frustration dished out in baseball, and in 1939, while managing in the minor leagues, he physically attacked an umpire on the field after a close play at third. The assault included a knee to the groin, shoving and much swearing. It precipitated a near riot from the fans, and a one-year suspension for Henry.

Default Effective search of net 54

Hello. I am still inexperienced with participating in net54. I have a general question. I find the search functions of threads/posts to be useless. For example i acquired some tribute cards of PR league players identified as 2005 Toleteros y Juncatos. I was interested in discovering to see if there was a checklist
I have checked trade card database with no success. When i search here under title 2005 Toleteros y Juncatos i get nothing. This happens for other searches i make. Even i type in Cuban leagues i get irrelevant results. How can i search in this board effectively? Thank you for your consideration.

The question you ask me, I cannot answer you because my specialty is Cuban Baseball, and those cards are not Cuban, I think you could consult a catalog of cards and you will surely find an answer, I have a Lemke catalog, which although it already has several years, but covers not only those of the United States, Cubans and others.

Default 29 december 1878

Today December 29 is celebrated "The Day of Baseball", in remembrance of the 1st Official Game of Cuban Baseball held on December 29, 1878, at the inauguration of the 1st Cuban championship, that day from 1940 the exaltations were held to the Hall of Fame of Cuba, I show 2 photos of today in the Tulipán Park, where that inaugural game was played in 1878 was called El Siboney Baseball Field, on Tulipán del Cerro street.

Thanks for the advice Roland49
However, i was using the PR cards as an example. In general i have found that searches in net54 often result in poor results. Even if i did a search on topics related to Cuban cards i would get results that never addressed my search topic. In essence i wanted to find out how to more effectively use the search function of net54. Thanks.

Great thread. I did not read all 660+ messages, but what I did had fantastic info for those interested in Cuban memorabilia.
I have two questions. Did your books get more printings since the thread began. Second does Lou Gehrig have any Cuban issues?
Thank you.

One of my favorite threads here.

Also, I can see a resemblance to the photos/cards for Mitchel Blake. Nice.

George, thanks for jogging my pathetic memory. Yes, I do have a Baguer Chocolate card of Sam Rice, although it's not as nice as your great example. I also have Baguers of WaJo, Lance Richbourg, and Tom Zachary. I'm still looking for Baguers of these 1924 Senators: Goose Goslin, Bucky Harris, Fred Marberry, and Muddy Ruel.
