I recently added to my collection the September 24, 1971 Shea Stadium pin that Mike previously shared (post 78). I have always wanted to create a grouping of this Type 1 photo taken at Shea Stadium on that night with the pin, and a ticket stub to the game. I hope to frame them together in the near future.

Howard here is another Type 1 photo of Roberto taken at the same photo shoot for the Temas magazine cover (post 268). The photo was shot by photographer Ed Fernandez in Puerto Rico. The same photo shoot appears to have been used for the 1971 Clemente Rawlings Advisory Staff photo.

In honor of the Pirates opening their season today I am also including a full ticket to Opening Day 1971 and a stub to Opening Day 1960. I have only seen one other full 1971 Opening Day ticket. I know Roberto's 1971 Series ring sold recently. I am curious if anyone knows the whereabouts of his 1960 ring.

Great items Mike! I’ve been looking for the Roberto Clemente Day stub for a while. If you spot one, let me know.

Raymond, I think I have that magnet also.

That poster hung on my bedroom door for a few years until Farah Fawcett and that red swimsuit arrived.

I wonder how many Catfish Monday posters were produced.

Great Clemente photo; image on the 1969 Nabisco Team Flakes card, one of my favorite subsets - I think the whole set is from these photos

Always liked the ‘68 SI posters. The Clemente was always one of my favorites. I had the Brooks on the wall for years and kept moving it around my room; too many tack holes to count. I guess I wasn’t smart enough back in the day to use the same hole each time I moved the poster. I was a true baseball fan and when Farrah with the red swimsuit came along I had the Brooks AND Farrah displayed.

Really like how Brooks is featured on the SI sales poster; always save the best for last...

I always wondered why so many SI posters were hard to come by and others were a dime a dozen.

With all the great Clemente stuff posted from your collection I was surprised this Easter Sunday when I didn't see a snapshot obtained from the Clemente family collection of Roberto wearing Easter bunny ears.
Keep all the Clemente coming.
Really surprising Topps didn't put out a card for him in 1974 like the did for Ken Hubbs in 1964.

That's a great panel.

I'm curious what others think about multi-player panels, but I really love them (mainly Bazookas, but I like Hostess, and even Berk Ross in this format).
I have a '63 and '65 Bazooka panel with Clemente, and I really like them, though I know some purists prefer the single player image and standard size.

Nice ticket and stub too! The 1960 ring sold in the same sale (300k)- here is a picture (no I didn't win it!). Lot # 617 - Wish I hit the lottery ahead of that auction!! Both rings, 2 silver bats, gold gloves, 1960 WS unifrom almost had a heart attack when I saw it all.

Thanks for the info Howard. I did see that auction and also came away empty handed. Somehow I missed the 1960 ring. I see there are 100 more Clemente family lots in their current auction. I bid on a few but remain pessimistic about my chances.

Some of the prices were stunning. Some not so much imo. I was on the phone almost the whole auction. I took home about 5 lots - coolest one I believe to be Clemente's 1954 learners permit with photo. Of course where many of the other lots were falling within the estimates a couple that I REALLY wanted and went after hard, blew the estimates away! Really wanted that 3000 hit Vase from the team with facsimile auto's - I wasn't even close. Under bidder on the gold medal from PR. Such is life. Glad to have won a few. Have many bids on the current auction too! We'll see when the dust settles.

Day 95

I won this next item on eBay last year and when I received it, I was surprised at how small it actually was, even though this is the smaller variation of two coins. There is also a pendant version in addition to the two coins. I posted a picture with a quarter for size reference.

1973 Memorial Coin small size...

Day 96

Just as I was surprised at how small the coin I posted yesterday was, I was similarly surprised at how large this coin was. Much larger & heavier.

1973 Memorial Coin large size...
