I really love your art. I have been wanting to try my hand at something like this since seeing yours. I know I just don't have the patience (nor the artistic talent) to do it justice. I just think it would be a fun use of a bunch of cards that will have no future value and I think my children would love doing this with me.

Another commission in the books! I also expect to have a Cracker Jack Cobb finished in the next couple of days.
Here is another that I think I forgot to post:

In addition, the Griffey is slightly off-center, making it only a 9, and not the prestigious Gem Mint 10.
Getting sloppy over there, Tim.

Thanks, John! Not sure about steadiest hands, as the process usually goes: cut, glue, assess, cuss, tear something off, cut, glue......

How about a little love for the photographer himself? After using those Conlon cards for the Jackie Bond Bread piece, I knew I had to get this done.

Tim,
Have you reached out to players and shown them the art work you have done? It's very impressive, and I would think they would believe the same.

This is a great idea with some cool results. Have you ever used a single card to make that same card? For example, using a pile of the "regular" Fleer Ripkens (none of the rare variations) to make a large version of the FF card?

I can't wait to see the 1987 Topps card. That was my favorite year for collecting and the set I have way too many cards of still. So you taking a large group off the market while making a giant 1987 Topps, makes me a happy soul.

Wish I was at the National this year, but since I'm not......might as well get some work done! I'll have the 1987 Topps common uploaded Saturday evening (it is being given as a gift that morning). Also just finished this one - my version of the 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson:

I would definitely be at the National working live any other summer. I am leaving next week to move my daughter in to college (oldest child, first semester). Dad is having a tough time, lol.....so I'm spending as much time around the house and at the beach with her as possible.

Started rolling on this one, and just couldn't stop. I have a feeling I will complete many more renditions from the 1964 Topps Giants set before I am done. This Clemente measures 20" x 28", and is available:

Tim do you have any pieces for sale or is just about everything you do commission work now? I can't imagine you having any in inventory for long?
Is is okay to ask what the general cost of one of these pieces would be? Say a "somewhere between $50 and $50 million", but maybe narrowed down a bit more? ha ha I went through this thread for the 3rd time today, page 1 to the end. I'm still amazed at what I see! |
