However, I have never shown the stamp in public before. I wrote about it before to find othesr with the same stamp, but never uploaded a pic.

How long have you owned the card? Where did you obtain it? It's clearly obvious that the back is exactly the same as yours.

I got it off if eBay around 1999. Sent it in to SGC in 2004.

Someone must have made the repro before you got it if you've never posted it to the internet.

I just can't imagine why that would be the case. Doesn't seem likely that a scam was being planned in 1999 to come to fruition in 2016. Maybe he should send it in to SGC or PSA. Stranger things have happened. Both Shreiner stamps are Detroit players. When did they first start making reproductions of the Wagner? Maybe he had his repro stamped as well.

I had a repro Wagner card all the way back in the 1980s. They've been making them even longer than that. That Wagner card has the EXACT same glue stain and name stamp in the EXACT location as your card. It is a 100% certainty that the back was taken from your card.

I agree. I don't know how it was done, but it can't be a coincidence.

In addition, the 3 creases in the top left of the back are the same.

Real original in grader in background, Wagner of this thread in foreground beneath (there is some transparency on the Wagner scan, ignore it, I forgot to change it back before saving the image)

What do you mean another graded fake Cobb?

The cards we showed were graded real Cobbs. The fake is the one that you posted, and that one isn't graded.

It is quite possible that someone saved the scan from 17+ years ago and used it for a modern day reprint. I save scans of cards that I find unique, even though they aren't my cards.
