Picked up these 2 from a fellow board member. The first pic is before I saved the Schrader from imprisonment.

Default More Bees in Mexico

Derek & Jim:
Here's another Mexican RPPC with Stengel and Kelly. Same back as Jim's. Looks like they are comparing the Mexican-made baseballs to an avocado pit...heh.

The last five pages of this thread are just amazing. My collection is what it is (SF Giants) but this site is giving me a new found appreciation for the really old stuff. Before, I'd get an auction catalog and think "meh" to 80% of the contents. Great stuff, guys.

Beautiful post cards, Jeff. Two more outstanding additions to what continues to be one of my very favorite collections on Net 54. I especially like the Almendares base ball club.

There have been a lot of great players that have come and gone, but if I were to come up with a list of players I wish I could have met, Buck O'Neil would be at the very top (hmm, sounds like an interesting topic). He was truly one of the great ambassadors of the game. The man was a witness to some incredible history, and his enthusiasm for the game was second to none. I could have sat there listening to him speak for hours on end, and I'd have been enthralled the entire time.

Derek, thanks again for reaching out to me and trading me these two "NM beauties" (hey, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," right?) for my Sam Rice collection from your fantastic RC collection. It's great when a trade greatly enhances both collectors' collections!

Condition-wise, this Boston Store closely resembles the only other Sam Rice RC "NM beauty" I already had, which is a Collins-McCarthy example. Now, the only ad back 1917 Rice I am missing is the D350-2 Standard Biscuit - anyone have one they are willing to sell or trade? I also wouldn't mind acquiring a 1917 E135 blank back of Rice, although I am partial to cards with ad backs.

Val - my 2014 collecting goal will be to upgrade your Boston Store to something more suitable!! I loved working w/ you on a trade!! I learned more about Sam Rice than I bargained for, but it was worth it!

Derek, you are too kind! I echo what you said about working together to achieve a "win - win" trade. And, I truly appreciate your 2014 collecting goal, but I'd rather you amend it to finding me a 1917 Standard Biscuit of Rice! FYI, I have lots of "poor" cards in my collection - you should see some of my WaJos - and, I love each and every one of them!
Best,
Val

I love CJ 14s but find most of the poses rather lame, and redundant. But this is one of my favorite--great pose and uniform and attitude. Looks like a HOFer.

Excellent, Mark. And as you rebuild that part of your collection, you have a nice place to display them. Win win!

Good luck with hunting down those other cards. I look forward to seeing them.

Congrats Alex! Keep chugging along and you will be at 200 before you know it. I bought a lot in my first year and I don't regret it at all. When did you start collecting t206s?

I bought a couple my senior of high school (10 years ago). However, it wasn't until last year that I really went after the set. It is a toughie to do on a budget but I am having fun.
