Default It's finally over!

Like passing a gallstone/kidney stone, it's a great relief when it's over! The Pirates have finally achieved mediocrity with their 82nd win of the season! Let's see all things Pirates!

Default Pirates Stuff

Here's the tip of an iceberg of Pirates stuff I haven't photographed, from an infield rake from Forbes Field to a team signed ball from 1925. (It's not collectable, but I thought I'd add a picture of my son in absolute awe.)

2 more - the Waner brothers, their first year together, and a 1917 portrait of Wagner from his estate.

That Wagner portrait is INCREDIBLE!

Congratulations to the Pirates, and to the fans who have been hanging in there waiting for the ship to right itself.

Here's a recent-ish pickup and an obscure one that took me a while to track down.

Regards,

Richard.

Default Go Buccos!

I'm working on a signed team set of T206 Pirates cards...

Leifield signed a number of T201s...

Even ole' Jefferson Burdick himself stamped this one...

I'm thinking of sending this one to Honus for a TTM autograph...

Yes it is, and I'm a Brewers fan.

I'm pulling for the Bucs to win it all. They've been my second favorite team since I was a child, and I got a signed copy of "This Day in Pittsburgh Pirate History" from the author, who was a relative of a family friend. I have this book tucked away in storage somewhere.

Congrats to the Pirates, I'm still pulling for the Reds but have family in Pittsburgh and it's great to see them back to relevance in the city.

Those '72 photos bring back a lot of memories, I remember more of those players than of today's rosters.

I always thought Luke Walker was a look-a-like for Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees!

Default Bit of everything

"Why does everyone talk about the past? All that counts is tomorrow's game."
(Roberto Clemente) I'm sure he is smiling as well. We are gushing in this house...okay well I am doing all of the Gushing in this house. Pardon me if I went a bit crazy with the pics but I am feeling a bit euphoric

What a Pirates fan!!!

I gotta admit, the Pirates are probably my 'vintage' team. Here's a 1905 team cabinet as it will eventually look, two other cabinets of various 1909 players and an RPPC of Paddy O'Connor.
