T207 brown Recruit survey.

Acquired this brown Recruit Marsans in an ebay lot recently. It got me to wondering about them. Has anyone ever conducted a survey on them? How scarce are they? Is there any pattern to the subjects? The factories? Can all common Recruit backs be found with the brown printing? Please feel free to post yours. Thanks in advance.

This is a rare card, especially of Marsans. There just aren't that many browns known.

Part of the reason is the brown can be difficult to spot. I would guess there are quite a few mixed in with blacks.

Insanely RARE! Marsans is common as dirt but the Brown back is a killer! Nice card! Dan.

There are certainly a few known - one on the B/S/T recently (last week?), and a couple on eBay (correctly marked as "Brown print") over the last few months, but they appear to be really uncommon.

It is indeed two separate cards. I apparently don't have a scan of the brown print front. This was NOT a cooperative grading venture.

I was a bit skeptical, but I looked through my t207 set and was very surprised to find that I never noticed one card (Davis) with the brown text:

A bit hard to see from the scan, but it's definitely brown.

I guess you do have to look closely. I never noticed the difference.
