Looking at Joe Jackson's world series stats for 1917 and 1919, i would think he failed at trying to throw the 1917 world series. He had great numbers in the 1919 world series, hitting .375 with 12 hits, 3 doubles and 6 RBI's. He will get in one day. |

He'll get in the hall of fame when abortion is outlawed, homosexual marriages are legalized, and the drug laws are overturned. |

Anonymous dude, Read Joe's own words at page 4, the question on being "paid". If you disagree this isn't grounds for exclusion, I don't know what is. |

Knew about it, played in it. Tough! The HOF is no place for cheaters. Him and Rose can stay out for ever. |

Much of Joe Jackson's, Buck Weaver's and Pete Rose's popularity lie in their being perceived as outlaws, outcasts, wronged by the establishment. Being canonized by the establishment ruins the whole "wronged by the establishment" thing, especially for Rose, and prices for their memorabilia and cards would fall from their heightened states. |

Regarding the jury verdict in Joe Jackson's favor, OJ was acquitted as well (in the murder trial). And OJ's jury was a group of impartial model citizens compared to Jackson's. When the jury verdict was announced in the Black Sox case, the jurors literally carried the Black Sox out of the courtroom on their shoulders. It's hard to believe that the jury impartially weighed the evidence. |

There never has been a legal system anywhere, at anytime that says "if one person gets away with a crime, then no one can be convicted of it." The legal argument of "but there were others who didn't get caught" didn't even work on our parents when we were kids-- and I'm sure we all tried it! |

Well........there should be an asterisk next to Speaker and Cobb then and I'm sure there are some knowledgeable people on this board who can come up with a few more names of cheats who are in the Hall. |

Pete ROse will have elected when he is dead and rightfully so, JAckson will have to be exonerated at that point. Joe should be in it wasnt his fault he was a backwoods tart with no education. |

there was a guy from my Neighborhood that was forced to do alot of bad things and he was slow and somewhat of a retard. I wondered as he got older if he would take it out on someone after getting picked on his whole life....well he did. He is serving 5-15 and no judge is going to care what he went through his whole life. I was one of few that befriended him but how do you justify a balanced life for the guy. One wrong doing after being picked on for 35 yrs. |
