Dan, So you decided to pick up the Farmer. I love that photo with the double gloves. However, I think I already said that in the other thread. |

The card market is certainly volatile. An SGC 30 E97 Rossman (I think this same one) sold in Chicago at the National for $400 in 2006 and 2 years later I picked it up for around $275. I was busy watching the Survivor finale and keeping one eye on ebay and so missed out on bidding on the Nichols Phila. variation which went for $399 to stumpy, a colossal pick up, I thought the card would go for a grand easily. |

Rhett, I did pick up the Farmer. Picked up the Carroll too, but another N54er has dibs on it so I didn't want to post it. |

Just got these in the mail today - I know they aren't prewar, but I'm very excited as I had never known of the existence of this set until I saw these on ebay. Anyone seen these before? They both have staple holes so I'm thinking they were probably stapled to the bags of potato chips. |

tbob nice score...caramels are softening so it's a great time to be a set collector again. i managed to pick up 3 cards and was around $5-$10 of both nichols, whom i consider the toughest cards in the set besides the sullivan...i put in some really low snipes for the 40s and 50s and surprised i was underbidder on a few so i'm happy with the low prices for commons these days. |

that scan above is a real nice Joe Jax card but it's not H2H (wrong card #--from m101-4). Not too shabby though--I see you're refining your tastes to include the more desirous black and white cards. There's hope for you yet Quan |
