...Lionel Carter's Plank is a Factory 30 - 2d Dist NY. The back scan on Mastro's website is a little fuzzy on the 30, but I think I can make out the NY instead of the VA. |

If the Plank is a "NY", then it is a Sweet Cap 350, Factory 30. |

Not implying anything, but is the font on the Plank card that Ted posted significantly different than Paul's Lionel Carter Plank? What's up with that? |

The front and back as shown do not match up. I have my suspicions that it's a reback. Perhaps Ted just used it for illustration purposes and it's not his. |

Ted, In my limited exploration of trying to determine which series is scarer I came to the conclusion that it was about 50/50. IF, I were to give a nod one way or the other I would say the 350 series is actually a bit more common. Which is somewhat odd, as up til approximately 30 years ago the 350 series was not even known to the hobby. |

It has always been a mystery as to why Plank was reissued in the 350 series since it was apparently pulled from 150 distribution and then again quickly pulled from 350 distribution. Perhpas it was just a mistake. Maybe he was pulled from 150 distribution for some contractual reason and when they started the 350 series, whoever was working that day just started printing Planks since the plate was there. Then his boss found out that Plank had mistakenly been included again and pulled the Plank again. |

Incidently, the title is incorrect (my bad)....Wagner is indeed found with a SWEET CAPORAL 150, Factory #30 back. Anyhow, I needed only Plank and Wagner to complete this Sweet Cap set of 469 cards. I was not about to spend the big $$$$$ to acquire those two cards. My $$$$$ are better spent on my wife, my two Daughters, and my three Grandchildren. So, shortly after I accumulated this 467-card set, I broke it up and sold the cards individually (and in group lots). I probably still have approx. 60 cards from this Sweet Cap, Factory #30 set. Thanks for inquiring, T-Rex TED |
