Here's my vote for the most creative pre-war eBay seller. The description is hilarious. Last week, with the help of another 1940s bathing beauty, he managed to sell a Cobb exhibit ...

Creative, I'd agree. But he definately left money on the table with the Cobb last week...I just wonder how many didn't even click on the auction with the "beauty" on the face.

I believe he lost $$ on the Ruth too, I sold it raw last year for more, either to him or someone he bought it from.

Your right Frank..he well may have. I know he did put a reserve on the Ruth auction this go around...and it was hit, so maybe he made back what he had in it. Still just to be creative...doesn't make much sense when he could have had a couple straighforward auctions with the pieces he had.

I thought the Cobb sold for the right amount because it looked like there were four holes in the card. Maybe I missed something.

The Ruth went fairly cheap. You have to figure that the seller is having fun and if that means losing money and not caring about it then that's the sellers "thing". I'm pretty sure he missed on a few INITIAL looks but I would also have to figure that someone would take a look at it the second time around (after seeing the price) if they passed on it the first time. It's those initial looks that probably kept the seller from realizing a better final hammer price.

It is "creative".
