All three have nice photos, but since the Henry has a heavy crease and back problems I'll say around $175-200. The others look nice and could be worth at least $300-500, depending on how they grade. I'm not sure what the brown stuff on the back is. These of course are just estimates. |

The Gleason and Blair cards may have been trimmed at one time. I noticed the ragged edges on those two cards. I think Barry is about right on the dollar amounts. I would say they would be worth anywhere from $100-$300 depending on the market at the time. If they were graded an actual numerical grade then they might be worth slightly more. you can check Ebay for comparible examples within the last 30-60 day period. |

Great looking OJs. Both of the Philadelphia As (American Association) cards are fairly common but the new for 1888 Philadelphia Quakers (National League) card is more difficult. So even though the Henry is the worst condition of the bunch, to the right buyer it might command the most. It's a thin market and the value of that card could fluctuate significantly. Note that the Philadelphia Quaker cards from a year earlier, 1887, are common. |

First--The cards are not trimmed. It seems to be a favorite preoccupation of the board to find problems that don't exist. The Henry is a scarcer than average card(please read scarce, not rare); the other two are common for Old Judge. If I were going to guess I would say the Henry was worth $600 and the other two, being in nice shape, $300 each. Nice call Barry |

Thanks Jay. I didn't know the Henry was scarce. There are a lot of cards that don't look familiar to me, but most end up being commons. I guess this is one that is a toughie. |

Jay...what makes the Henry more scarce than say the Gleason pose pictured. Is it the year and team designation ? Are all 1888-89 cards actually considered harder to find because there were just less made during those years. I've never seen that Gleason pose before |

There were less cards issued in 1889 than the previous two years. |

Barry--where did you get that piece of information from? 1889 and "1887" cards are the most common followed by 1888 and then 1890. |

thanks for the info Jay....the Old Judge set is so vast I wonder if anyone will ever truly know everything about it. Do any of you guys who avidly collect the Old Judges know of a place I can get pose informmation for each player known. I know it would be a mammoth undertaking, but is there a list somewhere of each pose that a particular player has been found to have. I know there are lists for the hall of famers, but do any exist for the common players |
