A CSA holder...I'd crack it. You only got $30 bucks in it anyway. If it was in a SGC holder and you paid the actual going rates for a 5, I'd say don't crack out. |

I suspect that PSA might look unfavorably at your card being in a CSA holder and may just decide not to cross it over at any grade. |

crack it. if done correctly, there really shouldnt be too much risk of damaging the card. |

Crack it. I doubt they would grade a card in a CSA holder. You have nothing to lose since it is probably worth more raw than in that holder since most would be very suspicious of it in that holder. |

...as to how many on here have ever themselves had a problem with CSA? Seems they take a lot of unfair (that's why I asked the question) bashing and too often get lumped with PRO. I have personally cracked 4 CSA cards and SGC graded every one of them fairly comparably. Would love to hear some replies from those who've had a problem... |

One (1953 Spahn) came back evidence of alterations by PSA, and I agreed. From a CSA 7 down to garbage. The others crossed over a grade lower (T206 Waddell) with SGC, and the last one came back same grade (1954 Topps Williams) from PSA. It's been years since I did this, however--I got the cards from Teletrade, which gives you some idea of how long ago... |

If you send it in the CSA holder, PSA probably won't even bother to try and grade it. PSA is finicky and biased toward ASA and CSA. I believe PSA graders lurk here also, so it might not get graded anyway if the person handling your submission reads this thread. |

I would never buy a card in a pro holder since its where all the trim jobs go, but im amazed to see people pay relatively large amounts for cards with pro high grades on ebay. Unfrickenbelievable. As for CSA, i know next to nothing about them, but they seem to be better then a lot of the trash companies out there grading cards. |

I have crossed 2 CSA slabbed cards over to SGC...Nolan Ryan and Tom Fears Rookies...both were CSA 7 and both came back SGC 80's. |

When you "crossed" them over were they in the CSA slab or had you cracked them out? |

I will say that CSA is the 2nd easiest slab to crack based on my experience. Easiest being..just recently learned..CTA. My opinion only, but both a piece of cake compared to SGC and PSA.. |
