How much more popular can the Babe get? But speaking of things that hype vintage cards, did Ken Burns' documentary cause a spike in the market? I was on hiatus from collecting when the film came out and so have no clue. |

I agree with Chad. Ruth is the most widely collected player, and his memorabilia is already expensive and highly prized. It may continue to rise because everyone wants a piece of Ruth. I don't think Bonds will have any effect on it though. |

Any vintage item of Ruth will always hold its value because of the name. However, I don't see a huge jump in the market because with the exception of the 1930 Goudey, there doesn't appear to ever be any shortage of Ruth cards available at any given time. I would imagine throughout history, when all the Mom's threw out the clutter (cards) in their son's closets, most of the Ruth's were already pulled. |
