What is considered the Ernie Lombardi Rookie?

Hi Hal, thanks very much. I agree with that choice. I do not consider the Zeenut minor league issues to be the rookie either.

Brett Domue has a nice baseball card checklist for all of the Hall of Famers. His checklists might help you figure out what the rookie cards are for all of the Hall of Famers.

and I don't want to go there again, but can someone who is interested in it explain to me the charm or allure of collecting a "rookie" card of a player when it has been preceded by more than one pre-rookie cards from a major set? I just don't get it.
