Kuhn was not a bad commish, he was in an impossible position given the arrogance of the owners at the time, who refused to give one inch to the players. The players would have gladly taken a much more restrictive form of free agency, and history would be quite different today. Perhaps you could fault Kuhn for not getting that done, but was it really doable given the ownership at the time? |
