Am I reading the PSA report correctly that they have never graded one of these before? |

IS one of the more common backs and would not command a premium.... |

I know of at least three. I have one. The one shown in the goodwin auction. There is also one mentioned on Block Sports Cards. They state it is the "only one known to exist." I believe they used to have a picture on their site, but no more. |

I see a PSA 5 Famous & Bar Jackson in the PSA pop report (using player search). But yes I'd also take into consideration the other 46 M101-4 and M101-5 Jacksons in their pop report when considering rarity. |

I don't believe the POP reports regarding any of the 1915 or 1916 Sporting News or Famous & Barr or any other back from cards of this set. I don't think PSA has figured out how to classify these cards yet. Or if they have, they only recently did. Regarding how common this back is, I know of 1, maybe 2 others that exist as M101-5 #86 with a Famous & Barr back. Of course the M101-4 would be numbered #87. I find that incredibly rare and worth a premium. Clearly I paid a high price for this card, but I am very, very excited to own one of the rarest cards ever produced. I'm sure all the other owners of similar variations of this card are pretty happy with the values of their cards too. Now, on to find a Thorpe and a Ruth. |

I don't really think you overpaid for the card but I can tell you, from experience, that Famous and Barr is one of the most common backs. I haven't tracked Jacksons with that back but I have tracked the backs as much as anyone in the last 10 years. I also have a complete (known) set of backs, which I believe is the only full set, with variations, known. Great card....I have always liked that pose.... |

I think they are somewhat rare. I bought mine about 5 years ago +/-. The card that was advertised on Block Sports Cards is undoubtedly the same PSA 5 as identified in the PSA Pop Report. Counting the card in the Goodwin auction that makes 3 that I have seen. |

While i am not going to comment on the price paid, i will comment on the rarity. I know of at least 3 collectors who are not on the board and not particularly active in the hobby anymore who have a number of M101-4/M101-5 Jacksons (amongst other cards). One guy has probably 15-20 himself (that is jackson in m101-4/101-5). I talked to two of them about the F&B once i saw it up. Each of those have the F&B and while neither had a scan handy, they each have an example with the F&B. One of them actually has two copies. In other words, these aren't found on every street corner, but in accordance with what others said, i would not consider the F&B to bring in a premium. There was another one of these up on eBay (not with an F&B back) that was sold privately for a far more 'reasonable' price. Between these three collectors, i would say that only 10-20 of their cards are graded. So unfortunately, I would not consider either the M101-4/M101-5 Jackson a rare card, and i would not consider the F&B back to be rare either. |

but I agree that Famous and Barr is not only a common back for m101-5, but the most common ad back. Only blank backs are more prevalent for that issue. |

if block have his psa5 available at 8k, and the buyer here paid 6k for his sgc30...yes I will say it he overpaid. I'm sure he's happy with the purchase, but the fact remains. I've overpaid for plenty of stuff, and Todd have even laid into me for it (thax todd |

The card looks very nice for a SGC 30. I think the price was fair. Congratulations Scott. |
