One seller has listed several T206 "errors" on Ebay: |

I assume they are all legitimate. The seller is a longtime collector of T206 errors and variations and one or two fo his ghost cards cards are pictured at T206museum.com. The Seymour missing colors is interesting and scarce. The Red/orange variations never lit my fire, but that's just my opinion. |

The seller is totally legit as are the cards, hes a well-known error collector as David said. The Seymour missing colors and the split back are both highly sought after "error" types.I dont understand why the Elberfeld is high, background variations are pretty common and if you put a couple of the same t206s side by side youll notice some kind of color variation, maybe not as pronounced as this one but ive seen it plenty of times before. |

I do not want to hijack this thread. But I do have a question. How is it that the back of a card is 'miscut' but the front is not? If it was due to the poorly place back relative to the possition of the cutter, then that makes sense. Wouldn't that however, mean that a signifcant number of other cards were also miscut? |

You are correct! they had alot of crude technology to even make the cards. my dad used to have original photos of them making the cards. my great great grandfather worked in VA at the plant. and the photos were passed down. kinda cool to c. |

The backs and fronts weren't printed simultaniously, so it's possible for the front to be fine and the back to be off. Miscut backs with fine fronts can be found with modern cards too. Extremely miscut fronts or backs are scarce for all eras. |

There seem to be quite a few of the missing color cards, the ones with only yellow with the SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 SUBJECT BACK, now if you find one with a different back you would really have something rare. Rob |

OK who got the seller of the error back to stop the auction early? I hate sellers that do that. If they wanted to just sell the card they should have had a BIN auction. Rob |
