Posted By: Paul Thanks. Believe it or not, I currently use State Farm for my collectibles. I was told I'm their only customer with such a policy. They are not very proficient in dealing with any changes I submit to them, so I'm shopping around. |

Posted By: warshawlaw I had State Farm before switching to the CIA policy (which is Hartford, BTW). State Farm was a thorough pain in the ass. I had to schedule every card, they messed up the descriptions frequently even though I gave them excel schedules that they could import, and the cost was more than the CIA policy. |

Posted By: John I just signed up this past year after Ben's fiasco. Most of my valuable cards are in a safety deposit box, but I felt that it could not hurt to protect my collection from theft, fire, flooding (after the contents of a neighbors safety deposit box were totally destroyed by flooding two years ago), etc. Their rates are extremely low compared to a rider on a typical homeowners policy and as stated previously their paperwork reads easily. |

Posted By: Josh K. Two nights ago a house in our neighborhood (several streets away) was hit by lightening during a bad storm and was declared a total loss after the fire was finally put out. I intend to be insured b/f the end of the month as that was literally "too close to home." |

Posted By: Texas Ted I just signed up with them and it was very easy and less costly than the others I found. One caveat is to make sure that you keep some record of the proof of purchase of a big part of your collection, as the small print says you might need that in case of a loss. I'm thinking that a fire that take out the whole house would get the collectionk, and your old records. So I keep my receipts off site. |

Posted By: warshawlaw I scan everything and keep a back-up off-site. Best proof of all that you owned it is to have a picture of it. |
