1915 Postaco Stamps are they really 1915?

I found a few of these adhered to an old scrapbook page but with a 1939 Centennial stamp. I believe these were issued in 1939 with the Centennial player stamps to recognize the old players maybe? My question, are we sure they were issued in 1915? What is the proof? I am picturing a few of the players and the 1939 stamp that was with them. Dan.
