This FBH specimen was bought by Lew almost a year ago on eBay for less than $2k. |

A sound specimen should sell for about $10,000. A damaged copy like this is probably worth no more than a few thousand and maybe alot less. |

I think that a nice HOF speciman of a 4 base hit would go for a little more than 10k. When was the last time you saw an HOF FBH, without any major problems, for sale? I know the one I have is "one". I know there might have been some others but in my scant 5 years I have not seen a nice HOF, without major problems, for sale that I can remember....probably missed one somewhere though....the one in the Lipset will bring exactly what someone is willing to pay, under normal auction circumstances, at this point in time. If there are at least 2 that want it pretty bad it will go high, if not, it won't. And that my friends was a boatload of words for a rowboat of thought |

Leon--That price was not for a HOFer, just a non-HOFer. Last time I checked Sunday was not in the HOF. I have seen several HOFers with less condition problems than your Kelly, ie no creases. |

You're right Jay. I always get mixed up on a few guys. Sliding Billy is one of them. His folklore makes him as valuable, or more, than some HOF's.. sometimes. Still haven't seen too many nice FBH's regardless of HOF or not...talk to ya soon and best regards |

I guess, according to the SCD, the picture of Sunday is on a card that has the name of "Daily" instead of "Daly" so it is a double error.....just wanted to clarify..... |

You too are correct Julie. See, I was sleeping for 2 hours on the couch today, got up, responded to Jay's post, and didn't wake up. Two faux pas's in one thread. One more and I will have the record |

My mis-information aside I am curious as to where you have seen the "several HOF's with less condition problems" for sale. For the last 5 years I have been watching fairly closely. PLease tell me who and where they were. I am curious.......best regards |

In a Rob Lifson sale several years back he had a Ward that was NrMt and a Clarkson with extremely minor corner clips (the card was mint otherwise). |
