Is this the stupidest waste of oxygen in any calendar year? Jeez. Months of speculating about which team drafts who. Tom Brady was the 199th, 6th round pick.
Kudos I guess for the NFL to turn this into an event. Or something. Last edited by Snapolit1; 04-24-2025 at 05:58 PM. |

I have fun with it. Abdul Carter to the good guys. It's the right strategy to take the best available player. Happy for the Jaguars to take Travis Hunter.

As little as I knowabout any of it, seems the top 3 were picked by basically every talking head. So what’s the big drama?

The drama is going to be how far Sander falls it seems. I'll give the NFL credit though..., they've managed to turn every single aspect of the calendar into must see TV for most sports fans.

I enjoy the draft, I don't understand the point of mock drafts, seems like an idiotic billion dollar industry.

Let the Browns have Sanders. It's just fitting:

I'm happy with the Giant's first round but wonder, did they really have to give up draft capital to move up 9 spots to get Dart? I don't think many teams had him as the 2nd QB off the board.

Sanders apparently interviewed horribly with everybody, including Tomlin I guess, who had somehow convinced everybody that HE was going to take Sanders...but didn't. It's the only thing that makes sense, since the Browns were they only team drafting between #25 and their next pick, that even remotely needed a QB. QB purgatory for at least another year, before we'll see if Dart's going to pan out. D-Line should be amazing, if this group stays healthy though.

The NFL and NBA drafts deserve the attention they get. Why is it exciting to watch? Because the guy who gets picked in the first round is going to step onto your active roster in a few months. Fans get excited about that kind of thing.

The first night is the hype night for live audiences. I'm not saying there aren't good players left that will be exciting to see on your team too. But I'm not surprised people are excited to watch the first round.

Love the draft. Fans of terrible teams get a high pick and get to hope for the future. Fans of good teams know the holes and get to see who might get plugged in.
The Browns are the exception here. They get to be terrible and not have a high pick. |

Jeez, has a player, particularly a QB, ever fallen so far past where they were expected to go between the end of the college season and the day of the draft, without suffering a major injury or committing a serious crime?
Browns ended up taking a QB ESPN had ranked 10th at his position and 217th Overall, instead of taking Sanders.

I'm not saying he's Liangelo Ball but he was hyped into oblivion by his own father. This is all Deion's fault. Some people can never let their son be an individual. If he was anyone else he'd be happy to be selected at all. But because he has a circus around him he's seen as a failure now because he didn't go in the first round. Why would a father want to hang something like that around their own son's neck?
If my son called me up and said "Dad, I just got drafted in the fourth found," my first word to him would be congratulations. I'm not sure that word will be the first one on Deion's mind. Last edited by packs; 04-26-2025 at 09:44 AM. |

Different styles of play, but great college players in the right system, with a lack of maturity and preparation that doesn't bode well for the next level. Of course, Manziel also had several issues off the field that impacted his play at the next level, that I don't think Sanders has, or at least I'm not aware of them, if they exist. Sanders is basically a pocket QB who gets sacked a lot. If he doesn't learn to read his progressions and get the ball out faster, he's going to get pancaked at the next level, unless he inherits a lights out Offensive line right away. Short term, Sanders is going to make a lot less money on his rookie contract, then he thought he was going to make, but in the long run, maybe it's the best thing that could happen to him. Pressure will be off him to be great right away, and maybe he can learn to be in a system where his father isn't his guardian angel and hype man. There is still the possibility he becomes an absolute steal for whatever team finally drafts him.

The kid did put up damn good stats at Colorado. What that actually means at the next level, I don't know. These kids who throw for a million yards in college rarely become great NFL QB's....meanwhile, the Tom Brady's, Brett Favre's and Josh Allen's of the World, are completely underwhelming in College and turn into absolute superstars somehow. ![]()

Haha, I saw that. To his credit, he took it pretty well when LT said no. LT's not the type of guy anybody should take life advice from, but he had a point when he said Carter should pick his own number to try and immortalize and make his own. Also, I don't think Carter was really serious to begin with. It's not like he wore #56 in college. I think it was actually more of a tribute to the history of the Giants and LT to begin with. A way to acknowledge the past. I don't think the kids of today are as oblivious of the past as we think they are.

This is really weird. Teams that they thought were actively interested in Sanders in the 1st round, are avoiding him, even in the later rounds.

Man I'm loving the Giants draft. Skattebo in the 4th round feels like a ridiculous steal. Dude torched one of the best run defenses in the country in the CFPO.

LOL, Browns couldn't pass him up in the 5th round. They now have 5 QB's on the roster, after taking 2 QB's in this draft. Question is, are ANY of them any good.
Sanders might still have a chance to start opening day on this team. ![]()

At some point it becomes worth the headache. He clearly wasn’t their target since they took Gabriel in the 3rd, but if you can a 1st/2nd round talent for 5th round money when the QB room is already the island of misfit toys, then why not?

This whole draft has been ask and you shall receive for Giants fan. Next pick a bruising guard who excels in the run block especially. Getting the running game going can actually help a mediocre line when it comes time to pass. That little hesitation the pass rushers have due to the run can be all it takes to get the pass away.

Yeah, hard to be upset at this draft. I think they learned a lot of lessons from the past, in tipping their hand too early. I think Giants fans are still traumatized from the Gettleman years and the complete lack of strategy he went into with every draft. Hopefully it pays off and Carter is at least half the player everybody seems to think he is, Dart turns into at least an average starting QB and someday we can get another full season out of Andrew Thomas.

Well that was an interesting draft, Thursday probably did a 10+ rating. Very happy with the Pats and addressing the needs particularly on offense. Have a feeling Henderson the RB from O St will be a real surprise and help Maye.
