I recently started to put together a set of the 60 multi-sport cards that appeared on the back of Wheaties boxes in 1952 - out of the mainstream, manageable size set, not too expensive, don't have to be mint, some nice stars, etc. I looked them up in Lemke's Standard Catalog of Vintage Baseball Cards and found a note saying that they were "extensively counterfeited circa 2002."
Can anyone tell me how to distinguish the counterfeits from the authentic cards? Different card stock? Glossy finish? |
