Default U3 matchbook master checklist?

Anybody have a master checklist for U3-1 matchbooks with known variations (both color and text/pose)? Thought about starting a list here, but I'd rather not reinvent the wheel if it's already been done.

I would be interested in seeing one, whether created here or linked from elsewhere. Six or seven years ago I tried tracking these (I once had a few). I have an old spreadsheet showing confirmation of 56 red, 59 blue and 66 green from the U3-1 series, which I have not updated in awhile. I did note the differing years and have dozens of scans, and I can give specifics if you want to start a list.

Thanks for the info. The TCDB doesn't have any of the color/text variations listed unfortunately. (That's where I started)

Are you trying for a master set with all the red, green, blue borders for each player, and so on? If so, good luck, that's going to be a heck of a project. As for other image/text variations or versions, sorry, I'm only aware of the very few listed in the SCD and TCDB checklists myself. Would be interested to see such a master checklist(s) for these if you ever do come across any. Again, good luck.

Here is just a partial list of what variations I've seen so far. Eventually I'll catalog the ones I only have one of to see if others have variations. I did notice a few errors in the TCDB version as well...mostly including those from the Cubs set. Many variations add text at the end, but some maintain similar text with some variations (fun). Color variations that just have same text in different colors are less common than I thought.

I'll put the rolling updates in this list.

Basically, those TCDB checklists of Diamond Matchbooks are almost exactly the same as the checklists in the old SCD catalogs that Bob Lemke used to be editor of. So just get one of the old SCD catalogs if you want checklists.

However, one of those TCDB Diamond Matchbook checklists is apparently incorrect. The number 4 checklist on that TCDB link, 1936 Diamond Matchbooks, shows a total of 18 matchbooks in the set, which includes 2 variations of Fritsch's matchbooks, and 3 versions of Grimm's matchbooks. The SCD catalog shows 13 matchbooks in the set, but only separately counted 2 of the 3 Grimm matchbook versions, so the SCD checklist actually contains 14 different matchbooks. The main difference between this matchbook set and the other non-silver or non-black border Diamond Matchbook sets was that on the back of this matchbook set, the team name was printed right below the player's name at the top. The other sets had no team name printed separately on the backs.

The difference of 4 matchbooks between the two sets is made up of the 1 Fritsch matchbook variation that the SCD catalogs didn't include, along with individual matchbooks of Dizzy Dean, Paul Waner, and Augie Galan. And if you look at the Galan matchbook image shown for this checklist on the TCDB site, you'll see it does not include the team name on the back. That image is of a matchbook from the 1936 Diamond Matchbooks Chicago Cubs set, the number 5 listed set on the TCDB site. So it clearly does not belong on this checklist for the 1936 Diamond Matchbooks. Oddly, or maybe conveniently, there are no images shown for the Dean and Waner matchbooks on this 1936 Diamond Matchbooks checklist, and due to the obvious Galan error, I would suspect that Dean and Waner don't belong on this checklist either. I would better trust the SCD checklist, at least until someone could provide an image of any of those three players showing the team name on the back of their matchbooks.
