Why did they remove the Trees? Chief Bender cards...
Does anyone know or have an idea why they removed the trees in the background on the Chief Bender cards?
I think the "with trees" version was released as they call it "Print Group 2, 350 only". Bender "no trees" came later in "Group 3". Later, in 1914, 1915, and 1916, Bender appears on 6 cards in the T213-2 Coupon set. They made a trees and no trees each year, with team changes for both cards. Then, in 1919, when they released a set of 70 cards, Coupon included both trees and no trees...(shown here...) Post any Chief Bender cards with any thoughts on trees and no trees.
