Monster Bat
Any thoughts on this monster of a bat? 45 inches long and weighs about 47 oz. I am interested in some information on this bat. Thank you!

My guess is that it is a farm implement due to to taper at the non-knob end.

Was thinking the same thing. Not sure it is a bat.

Not a bat but as others have said, a farm tool. Sometimes you see these with the end taper cut off and sold for big bucks but not a bat

That's a good point Jim....I think If I had seen this with the tapered end cut off to 35", I'd think this could be a 19th century bat.

Definitely NOT a bat. Here is Herman's bat for comparison

Easy to tell as the ends are flat and when you swing it it is unbalanced

I don't think it's a farm tool . I thinks it's for cooking lime to mix floor or cornmeal.

I can't tell very well from the pictures but it looks as if the tapered end does not have much in the way of wear marks, compared to the area just below it. This would suggest that there was an implement of some sort attached to the tapered end.

Log rolling tool. Maybe missing the end hook.
