Behind 49-30 in the bottom of the ninth Troy comes up 16 runs short. Only 14 total runners left on base. Fortunately there was a double play or the score could have been higher. On average in 1871 teams scored just over 10 runs/game teams made about 8 errors/game more unearned than earned runs resulted in a league ERA of just over 4 in several games this year the winning team topped 20 runs, but this game with 82 runs total was a true outlier. And to anticipate the inevitable snide remark, I wasn't there. ![]() ![]()
