Default Rugger

"Rugger" is his nickname. I wrote to him about 10 years ago, very nice man who takes pride in the fact that he was a major leaguer and a NY Yankee. Great article!

And Marc Macrae was quoted in the article. Apparently they are friends. Nice story.

Default Rugger

What a great read. Sounds like he had many wonderful moments. Does anyone know if he made it onto a baseball card? Thanks Jim

According to vcp.com he has at least a couple of cards, a 1946 Remar and a 1949 Hage's Dairy.
