I am excited to add this rare Jackie Robinson card to the collection. Does anyone else have any Pages Pittsburgh Milk cards to show?

I finally bought a copy of the 4th edition Standard Catalog of Vintage Baseball Cards and I see the Page's milk cards are still not added.
It's too bad because I know that set, and several dozen more, were submitted during the 2-3 years I was contributing after leaving as editor. I'd like to think they made it into the data base and are languishing there because nobody at the publisher knows they are "available." for the book.

Hi Bob
That is a shame the little and intriguing Pages Pittsburgh Milk Co. set languishes without a catalog identity. I have told this story before but we have a lot of new folks so.. A few years back I was at the National and bought a small group of these. I hadn't ever seen them before. I was quite excited as there was, what later turned out to be, the "missing link" to the set. It was a redemption card and included. And how I found that out was, as I was walking around the show, I showed it to one of my absolute favorite guys in the hobby, John Rum.irez. For those that don't know John he has always had, and still does, the #1 table as you walk into the National. As far as I am aware, from day one, that has been his table, however many years it's been (35?), he's been there. He is also someone I usually spend hours speaking with as we are both type card collectors, and I am sure he does sets as well. I walked up and showed him the cards. He looked at the redemption card and got all excited as only a lifelong collector can. He told me that he had seen these cards since the 70's and no one had ever known anything about them, until now. The only downside to having them cataloged is that then the prices could go up. ![]()

Here are two Page's cards:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The La Motta is available for sale [shameless plug] As for rarest JR card, certainly the Page's could qualify. I do not recall ever seeing another one.

I acquired my Page's Milk type example from some peasant who runs a vintage card forum.

I talked about this a couple of months ago.
It's a business decision for both Krause (F&W) and Beckett. http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com...l-cataloguing/
