Removing Autoraph from a Card

Just wondering if it's possible to remove an autograph from a card without harming it. Was looking at a rare Derrick Rose card that was autographed in person supposedly but I'm somewhat doubting it's authenticity and would prefer it non autographed anyways. I would be willing to purchase it if I know the autograph could be safely removed.

Only possible way I could see it being removed is if the autograph was on a super glossy/plastic like material, otherwise I doubt it.

It's in what looks to be sharpie would that Still come off without damage?

If it is a very glossy card you could use PEC-12 which is a spray used by photographers to remove markings from photos. I spray it on a non-abrasive cloth or special wipes not the item. A non-abrasive eraser or artists gum eraser may work. You can get non-abrasive erasers, which are usually white, at Staples/Office Depot. Artist gum erasers at Michael's, Hobby Lobby or any art supply store. Another option is rubbing alcohol.

A good way to test is to take several low value cards from the same set and mark them and try various mediums.

Use one of those white stick erasers that they sell in the store right next to the mechanical pencils. It will almost certainly work on a glossy card without harming the card. You might still see an indent if the signer pressed hard with the pen.
