So I finally purchased my first 1952 Topps Mantle about a week ago and I have to say, I'm really happy I waited till I saw a very nice and presentable Mantle in my price range.
The card is graded by SGC (Auth) and says (Altered) on the label. My question is: What is the alteration that was made to the card? I looked at the SGC's grading scale on their website but still couldn't narrow down an answer. If it was "trimmed" or "recolored" the site says there should be a two letter/# code on the label. Can anyone suggest what has been done to this beside the glue marks on the back side. Thanks.
