Default Fake Babe Ruth checks out there?
Hi. I noticed in an ad for a local estate sale they appear to have a framed Babe Ruth check. I might be willing to take a chance on it if the price is right. Have those been faked (dumb question probably; seems like EVERYTHING has been faked at one time or another)? Any clues I should look out for that it's not authentic?

Unfortunately this issue does happen sometimes. Just leave the thread or post and when I see it I will delete it. Members don't have the ability to delete. You can always PM me to alert me and I will do it right away otherwise I will do it when I see it.

I know there has been at least one (maybe more) Babe Ruth foundation checks forged from previous conversations with Richard Simon.

The first problem is it being framed. Unless you can view it outside the frame, you would be taking a heck of a chance at an auction. There are many framed copies of Ruth checks on eBay that look 100% authentic in the frame.

There are very questionable Ruth checks out there from the Bank of the Manhattan Company.
