When my kids are older, I would like to build a set with my them from the years they we're born (2009 and 2011). I would like to do a baseball and football. I was curious others thoughts on which brands are best/fun so I can buy unopened material now and have a stash for us to open in about 8-10 years.
So best? 2009 Baseball set 2009 Football set 2011 Baseball set 2011 Football set

That's a great idea! Topps Heritage is my favorite set, but there are a ton of different. Topps Archives (I don't really like), Topps series one and two (Normal Topps), Topps Allen and Ginter (Always fun packs to open). I still suggest Topps Heritage, but the others are great too.

I agree with Cameron. I like the Heritage sets from Topps especially for set building. I don't know anything about football cards, so my opinion is really only in relation to the baseball sets.
Thanks, AndyH

Thanks for these comments. I really like the look of the Allen and Ginter cards, but it seems to have a ton of inserts and specialty cards (which will be tough to build 8-10 years down the road).
Im going to check out the Heritage sets and the base sets. Im trying to find some reasonably priced unopened.
