Only 500 printed. Already worth like $4,000 and climbing. Is this the most coveted card of the modern era? I almost wish I had $4,000 to spend on this card, it looks bad ass. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-BOWMAN-...-/260924078964

I believe they were redemptions, too. Some say that not all were redeemed. I believe that is the holy grail of modern cards. Wish I had one, too

This may well be the most coveted card of the modern era.
I have a hard time believing that this card will hold even its present value ten years after he has retired much less climb into the stratosphere like the '52T Mantle. Have we seen any examples of a modern card doing that?

The most I have paid for a post 1980 card was the special issue Topps 1990 President Bush card in his Yale uniform . It will usually go for several thousand in top condition

Back in 2001 people were paying stoopid money for Albert and Ichiro RCs I thought they were nuts. This card has gone up, even nuttier. I think the only way this card fails is if he does something stupid... I think it will hold it's value. |

I also think his change of uniforms will somewhat negatively impact the value of his cards in the long run. Since he is under contract in LA for 20 years, 10 as a player, I assume he would go into the Hall as an Angel, at least if it happens while he is still under a personal service contract with them at the time.

[QUOTE=doug.goodman;1007635]How do we know there were only 500 printed?
Doug[/QUO On the backs of all of them they say 100/500 or 253/500 written in marker by Pujoles. Plus Beckett said so too. |

It could possibly become as valuable as the 1952 Mickey Mantle, but I think that the modern card to watch is Starlin Castro's 2009 Topps RC. I believe that think will climb in value in the future!

Are you referring to a card from the regular set or some special insert or limited edition card ?
