Hey guys,
I want to apologize if this doesnt go in this section. My nephew (10 yrs old) was looking at my collection and seemed pretty fascinated. I would like to get him started in some type of card collection. But....he is not into sports AT ALL. He's more of a jokester type of kid (anyone familiar with Bobby Hill from "king of the hill"). So I was thinking there must be some kind of "funny" cards out there and then I remembered garbage pail kids. I think he would love them! Anyways, I looked on Ebay and while there are alot of sellers, I was curious if anyone on here might know of any well known shops that specialize in "hobby" type cards as opposed to sport cards. Thanks for the help guys. |

I would suggest you go over to the Non-sport part of the board. There is a link in the top right corner of this page. You could ask your question there, or go to the links section which have several good dealers listed. Hope that helps.

Look for comics stores. They might have non-sport cards.
Many movies, television shows and comics have trading cards. There might be cards for a show he likes. I've seen King of the Hill. |

he may like history, many of the nonsports cards have alot of history
If you go for collector grade stuff like I show below you can often pick up cards for $10-20 or even less, on eBay. My fav is the N2 cards.... The cool thing about the N2 Indian series is they are now 124 years old, and from the Era these Indians lived in... very cool to me, I would have loved them if I was 10. (there are many other series with lots of history too) 1888 (N2) A&G American Indian Chiefs series (these were all under $20 and found on eBay in last 5 years) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by fkw; 12-23-2011 at 04:37 PM. |

Might give some thought to starting him on semi-vintage, like 1960 Funny Valentines....heck, I thought they were funny when I was a kid. And they are pretty cheap too.....Grant
